Post 7 : Changes to my study program

 


Hello everyone! Welcome to my seventh blog. Today I will talk to you about Public Administration.

To begin with, this career lasts 10 semesters, that is 5 years. The objective is to train fully qualified professionals to work in the public service, trying to make the state more efficient and effective.

I am in the fourth semester of the career, where I have been able to know in depth what it seeks to achieve and the learning that we must have. First of all, it should be mentioned that the subjects are very varied, since we must learn the regulatory frameworks (law) that govern public officials, and on the other hand, we must learn statistics (mathematics) to improve the finances of an institution and personnel control. I would not change this very diverse curriculum, as I believe it is the essential is public administration, as it prepares you for any area of public service.

I think the infrastructure of the Universidad de Chile could be improved. Although the current campus is not ugly, I think it is a bit old and small in the sense that it is becoming more and more popular, and more people are entering. However, it is also important to mention that a new (very technological) campus is currently under construction, which would be ready by 2024. I hope to at least get to know it :(

Finally, I must mention that public administration is very entertaining and useful to improve our environment:).

Post 5 : My future job

  Hello everyone! Welcome to a new blog. This time I will write about my future job. I started studying public administration with the idea of being able to help build a better, more efficient and closer country. This idea has not changed to this day, since I still imagine myself giving my best effort to meet my expectations. I see myself alternating work in the field and in the office, since I would like to do part of the work abroad so as not to disconnect myself from the people and their needs, in order to execute the public policies they need; while, at the same time, I imagine myself in an office studying budgets, resources, research, in order to be fully prepared for the job. Finally, it is important to mention that since I imagined my future work, I always did it in the central government, since I believe that it is the one that has the greatest impact on the objectives that I set myself to achieve a real change in how public policies are carried out by governments.
